Introduction to AvalonMiner 741
Like its previous models, AvalonMiner 741 comes with a sturdy build
and an aluminum shell. The miner has a dimension of 136 x 150 x
320mm and weighs 4.8kg per unit. This device comes with 16nm
Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) chips, ensuring
productivity and efficiency. The chipboards have 88 of such chips,
giving the miner a total computing hash power of 7.3Th/s and power
consumption of 1150W.
Specifications
For ease of usage, AvalonMiner 741 comes with a standard
AvalonMiner Controller, which allows you to connect up to 4 AUC3
converters. With this setup, you can comfortably connect five
devices. Although, if you want to improve profitability
drastically, you can set up 20 of them to get a total hash rate of
146Th/s, which is impressive. In case you don’t get the controller,
you can use a Raspberry Pi 3 Controller, which works just the same.
In terms of power supply, you can get a PSU with at least 1300W
output.
The AvalonMiner 741 has a power efficiency of 0.16J/Gh at the wall,
and its operating voltage is around 12.53V. It works with 88 x
A3212 16nm ASIC chips, making its hash rate error rate about -1%.
The device comes with 6 x 6pin power connectors, and its network
connection/interface is AUC3. Its operating ambient temperature is
-5 °C to 40°C.
Cooling and Heating
The AvalonMiner 741uses an air-form cooling method with one 12038
fan at the rear. This cooling method allows it to dissipate heat
more efficiently and reduce the risk of overheating. This
method/feature is an added advantage for a device that works round
the clock. The first thing you might notice about the miner after
unpacking and looking through the fan grid is the heat sink. The
heat sinks have a weird shape, but this is understandable given
their efficiency in heat absorption.
Noise Level
The AvalonMiner 741 has a measured noise level of 60 to 65dB, which
is standard. Most miners have a noise level of 60-80dB. This low
noise level is attributed to the sole fan attached to the rear for
cooling. The miner is almost soundless as the sound/noise level
equals that of an air conditioner.
Algorithm
The algorithm of a miner is essential as it determines the top coin
and profitability of the miner. The AvalonMiner 741 works with the
Secure Hash Function(SHA-256), a cryptographic algorithm used in
mining altcoins like Bitcoin. It is used to create public and
private keys and addresses and for mining Bitcoin.
